Estudo de Requalificação da margem brasileira da Itaipu Binacional e Plano Conceitual do Pólo de Integração Trinacional

2018

Foz do Iguaçu - PR, Brazil

The proposal of requalification of the Brazilian Margin of Itaipu Binacional and its articulation with the City of Foz do Iguaçu consists of the use of the area destined to UNILA, which had its works suspended, with the conception of the design of Itaipu City, which was based on the premise of adapting and conducting the growth trends of Itaipu in this area already impacted, because they bring together constraints and potentialities that allow integrating the occupations in a coherent and articulated whole, whose greater result is the improvement and quality of the environment.

The proposed buildings are in line with the spatial guidelines of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant Master Plan, which directs the concentration and optimization of activities; the construction of new buildings using low-impact technology, reuse of resources, and lower maintenance costs; zoning that considers the location and access of different activities by different populations, with adequate, economical and less polluting transportation; in addition to the formulation of a relevant image of the built space, proportional to what Itaipu represents.
